Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development was started in 1993 under the aegis of the Symbiosis Society. SCMHRD started its functioning from Atur Centre in Model Colony and shifted to its current campus at Hinjewadi.
In 2006, SCMHRD came under the Symbiosis International University and started to offer an MBA degree.
SCMHRD is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi, near the city of Pune.
The institute is self-contained, with all essential amenities available to students within the campus.
The flagship event of the Marketing Club Marketing @ SCMHRD, is The Marketing Conclave which is held every year. The Marketing Conclave explores a new theme every year. In 2007, The symposium explored Integrated Marketing Campaigns, and in 2008 the theme was Luxury Marketing while in 2009 it was Evolving Consumer Trends. The Symposium is an interface between the corporate and the academia. Keynote speakers are invited from the industry to take part in the symposium to present their understanding on the theme.
The Club organizes Ricerca- A Research Paper presentation competition, for B-Schools, every year. Ricerca has participation from top B-Schools across the country. The theme for Ricerca is launched in August.
Frage- An online quiz is also a part of the Symposium and has participation from numerous teams across the country. Frage has a series of 5 online quizzes and the winners get attractive cash prizes. The Club organizes and co-ordinates this as well.
The Marketing club publishes its magazine Market Square every year. Market Square captures the latest market trends. The magazine also carries a special focus on the symposium, a message on the theme from all keynote speakers and the winning entries of Ricerca. Market Square is circulated in Corporate and academia.
The Marketing Club is also involved in co-ordinating In House marketing events that are conducted on the campus and participation of SCMHRD in events conducted by other institutes and companies.
This is the Annual Business School festival of SCMHRD. It includes a variety of events ranging from case studies to concerts, mock boardroom games to music performances, strategy games to street plays, online simulations to quizzes etc.
Though its seeds were sown years back in 1995, the magnitude and scale it has reached today had its beginnings in 2006. On the strong foundations of previous years, NEEV continues to grow and become bigger and better each passing year.
NEEV 2010 saw a total footfall of 8600+ which included thousands of students from top Indian B-schools like IIMs, MDI, FMS, SP Jain, XLRI, NMIMS etc.; undergraduate teams from IITs, NITs etc as well as corporate teams. With a theme of 'Chaos and Effect', NEEV 2010 was about breaking away from the beaten path, causing chaos out of convention and creating an effect that is novel, ingenious and even more effectual than its precedent.
NEEV 2010 was inaugurated by Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, (Director, TATA Sons). Rajiv Bajaj (MD, Bajaj Auto), Chavi Rajawat (the 'MBA Sarpanch') and Vikram Sathaye (stand-up comedian) were the eminent celebrity speakers.
NEEV has always been blessed with a host of patrons who have helped the event reach its present magnitude. In 2010, NEEV collaborated with leading names of the business world including SAIL, IBM, MCX, NABARD, Indian Oil, Fiat and many more.
The theme for this years NEEV is THE FOURTH QUADRANT, so what is it:
Everything begins with an idea. But it is not just your mind that conjures up something great... it is a multitude of factors that inspire, mould and shape the origins of the idea and subsequently the idea itself. On the one hand are the known, but restrictive factors - intense competition, fast paced lives and monetary mindsets. On the other hand, is an unlit path, where knowledge is abundant, but consequences are unexplored. This is The Fourth Quadrant where a dark ocean of knowledge breeds sparks of light. This is also the space where collaboration and support can make your ideas tangible.
Every Idea has a journey. It is the eureka moment AND its journey through time that eventually manifests into something great. I, NEEV, dwell in this Fourth Quadrant for inspiration, revelation and recognition

Neev11 is going to be bigger and better this time with celebrities like Sivamani, Hardkaur and Kshitij Tarey performing on Dec 9 10 11th. Be there and be a part of India's 2nd largest B-fest.
This is an annual event organised by the entrepreneurship cell, e-cell, in the month of February in association with National Entrepreneurship Network. The event is a week long affair and has some guest lectures, entrepreneur visits, quizzes, idea contest, e-sell game, etc.
SCMHRD, with Six Sigma & Advanced Controls (SAC), USA, established these awards to recognize and award people in different industries for having pioneered the implementation and execution of various Six Sigma initiatives, thereby extending the scope of Six Sigma methodology globally.The seminar redefines benchmarks across the industry for efficiency and excellence. It is organised by the Operations batch of SCMHRD.
This conclave focuses on various challenges facing the banking community in order to formulate a course of action for the future. The latest gathering addressed issues relating to Bancassurance, Basel II Norms, Consolidation, and Foreign Banks. It is organized by the Finance Batch of SCMHRD.
